Seibun has brought this kit in at a great price for what it does, but they cut some corners to do it. The instruction manual is small and not always easy to follow. In particular, be very careful when connecting the wiring from the motors to the battery holders. Also, the decals don't come with the kit, but are available free online at Seibun's website.
All in all, once you get this beauty assembled and running, you'll be happy with the finished product! Completed hovercraft is about 8 inches in diameter.
This kit also comes with a small light bulb, which kids in my workshops figured out how to install on their own to give the hovercraft a head-lamp. COOL!!

DON'T BROOD TOO LONG OVER THIS ONE: SEIBUN WILL BE DISCONTINUING THIS HOVERCRAFT BY THE END OF 2007!

Build-It-Yourself Hovercraft Kit.
This is an excellent kit at a great price point. Assembled, it looks exactly as you see on the left, and I was very satisfied with its operation on both water and hard, flat surfaces. You can rotate the propulsion fan to get the craft cruising in a circle, and the speed was impressive, especially over water!
Seibun has recently upgraded the yellow wire fasteners and the builder no longer has to snap them shut (which was difficult). They now come pre-installed on the battery tabs, making this kit much more builder friendly than it used to be!! Fantastic!!
The drive propeller's design has also been improved so that it does not break as easily as it used to.
Ages 10+, Requires 4 AA batteries, not included.
